The FIFA World Cup 2026 is the 23rd edition of the world’s biggest international football tournament, organized by FIFA. It is being jointly hosted by the countries of United States, Canada, and Mexico, making it the first World Cup to be hosted by three nations. The tournament runs from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
A major feature of this edition is its expansion from 32 to 48 teams, making it the largest World Cup in history. The teams are divided into 12 groups of four, and the top two teams from each group along with the eight best third-placed teams advance to the Round of 32.
The competition includes 104 matches played across 16 host cities in North America, while the final is scheduled to take place in the New York–New Jersey area. The tournament is expected to attract millions of fans and showcase football talent from around the globe.

One postage stamp dedicated to the theme “Sport. FIFA World Cup” has been put into circulation by Armenia.
The postage stamp with the nominal value of 500 AMD(Armenian Dram) depicts the footballers against the background of stadium spectators.
The postage stamp also depicts the inscriptions “FIFA World Cup” and “USA, CANADA, MEXICO” in Armenian and English languages.
