Bangladesh stamps 2010- Roses Cultivated varieties in Bangladesh

Bangladesh issued a set of 10 stamps on Rose Varieties cultivated in Bangladesh. A  miniature sheet was also issued. The rose varieties are Alec’s Red, Royal Highness, Queen Eliazabeth, Ballerina,Alexander,Blue Moon, Papa Meilland,Double Delight,Iceberg,Sonia, Sunblest, Piccadilly, Pascali.

Great Britain stamps on Roses 1976.

Great Britain issued a set of four stamps on 30 Jun 1976 to mark 100th Anniversary of Royal National Rose Society. The Four species of Roses on stamps were Elizabeth Of Glamis,Grandpa Dickson,Rosa Mundi and Sweet Briar.

Elizabeth of Glamis (Irish Beauty) – Introduced in 1964, Elizabeth of Glamis was named after Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother whose childhood home was Glamis Castle in Scotland. It is a sweet scented excellent cluster flowered rose with lush dark green foilage on a bushy medium sized plant. The petals are luminous salmon orange.

Grandpa Dickson Rose ( Irish Gold) – Introduced in 1966.A popular large flowered rose has full double blooms that are well formed and yellow. Has won many awards for its crispness.

Rosa Mundi – Derived from wild rose pale pink with splashed with crimson.

Sweet Briar Rose – This vigorous tall shrub has densely prickly fawny green stems covered by strong thorns. The dark green foliage smells strongly of apples when crushed. Flowers are scented,pink and beautiful.

Tea Roses Konrad Henkel & Maid of Honor on Canada stamps 2014.

Canada Post issued a Miniature sheet with two stamps on roses to its popular flower series on 23 APR 2014.

Konrad Henkel – It is a hybrid tea rose registered in 1983. Grown on shrubs it has medium red color , very fragrant and blooms in late spring and early summer.

Maid of Honor – It is relatively new  hybrid tea rose introduced in 2007.It is a climber that grows on a plant that can rise up to 10 feet. Yellow white in color it is very fragrant.

Blue Moon Rose – Beautiful,highly scented, large lilac blue blooms on this ever popular hybrid tea rose. One of the earliest and most successful blue roses that will flower through summer and autumn.This can grow upto 70-90 cm.

Bhutan issued an Airmail stamp on Blue Moon rose on 30 Jan 1973.
