State Bird and Flower of  Iowa – USA 1982.

The USA issued a set of 50 stamps on State Birds and Flowers of States of the USA on 14 Apr 1982. We are listing them in Alphabetical order of States name. All stamps are 20 cents denomination.

State Bird – Eastern Goldfinch designated as State Bird in 1933. It is also called American Goldfinch or Wild Canary. Male is bright yellow with black wings females have an olive-yellow body and dark brown tail and wings

State Flower- Wild Rose. It was designated as the state flower in 1897. Wild Prairie rose is generally cited as the state flower

A First Day Cover is listed, it shows IOWA as the Plains States of USA.
