Unsung Heroes – Special Covers from Himachal Pradesh- 13 Oct 2021.
As part of Azadi ka amrit Mahostav (75th Anniversary of Independence) Special Covers on Unsung Heroes will be released across India by various State Level Postal Circles. Himachal Pradesh Postal Circle released a set of three special covers on 13 Oct 2021 coinciding with SIPEX 2021 , a three virtual Philatelic Exhibition.
Pandit Padam Dev (26-Jan 1901- 06 Feb 1989) – Pandit Padam Dev was born in District Shimla. He participated in Non-Cooperation movement (1920) and Civil Disobedience movement Movement (1930). He was Founder member of Himalayan Riasati Praja Mandal. Elected to First Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in 1952 and became First Home Minister of the State. He was also elected to Lok Sabha in 1957.
