  • The outer stripes are blue in colour as the National Flag.
  • White centre stripe.
  • There is a large semi-circular ‘C’ in red in the centre.
  • In the opening of the letter ‘C’ is a gold disc.

The Colours in Flag represent the environmental features of the state.

  • White symbolizes the snow on her mountains.
  • Gold shows abundant sunshine.
  • Red represents Colorado’s red soil.
  • Blue is a symbol of clear blue skies.

California State Flag –  The historic bear flag was raised at Sonoma, California in 1846 by American settlers in revolt against the Mexican rule (officially adopted as State flag in 1911). This event is also known as Bear Flag revolt . The Flag was designed by William Todd, nephew of  Mary Todd Lincoln, Wife of Abraham Lincoln.

  • The California Grizzly Bear portrays courage.
  • The star represents Sovereignty.
  • Red Colour signifies Courage.
  • White background stands for purity.

-25 white stars signify Arkansas as the 25th State of the Union.

– Three stars below Arkansas represent the three nations which ruled Arkansas before it joined the Union ( Spain, France, USA) and also signify the third state created out of Louisiana purchase.

-The fourth lone star above the word Arkansas represents the Confederacy.

Arizona State Flag –  The 13 rays of red and gold on top of the flag represent the 13 original states of the Union and the rays of Western setting Sun. Red and Gold were also the colours carried by Coronado’s Spanish expedition in 1540 in search of Seven cities. This is the Spanish connection. The bottom half of the flag has the same blue as the USA flag and the star at centre denotes Copper, Arizona is the largest producer of Copper in the USA.

Seven stars represent the constellation Ursa Major or the Big Dipper which symbolizes Bear, an animal indigenous to Alaska. The eighth star being the North Star and representing the Northernmost State of The USA
